Daisy Mae & Old Brother Charlie - The Pure Hillbilly Sound Of

The title of this album really tells you what one can expect. All items were made from 1948 to 1952. Daisy Mae had a wonderful powerful Hillbilly voice, probably one of the best female voices in country music ever. Her husband Charles Arnett was a wonderful partner. Both were singers and Charlie did a reciation now and then as well. Jerry Byrd can be heard on steel guitar on a couple of tracks. The rest of the wonderful musicians is unfortunately unknown these days. However, this is an album with power, much feeling and certainly fills a gap in your record collection.
